Rupert Goold pulls out of co-directing Troilus and Cressida

Natalie Woolman

Rupert Goold will no longer direct Troilus and Cressida for the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Wooster Group as planned this summer.

Goold was going to co-direct the play with Elizabeth LeCompte for the Wooster Group. However, due to “unforeseen changes in the timing of Rupert’s planned film being made in the USA” he has dropped out of the project.

Mark Ravenhill, the RSC writer in residence, will now direct the project for the British company.

Troilus and Cressida runs from August 3 to 18 at the Swan Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon.
