Downton Abbey wins at National Television Awards

Downton Abbey has been named best drama at this year’s National Television Awards.

Other winners at the ceremony, held at the O2 in Greenwich, were Doctor Who stars Matt Smith and Karen Gillan, who were named best actor and best actress respectively.

BBC series Outnumbered won the sitcom award, while Coronation Street was named best serial drama.

Coronation Street actress Katherine Kelly won the prize for best performance in a serial drama.

Meanwhile, The X Factor won the award for best talent show, Michael Mcintyre’s Comedy Roadshow was named best entertainment show, and Ant and Dec were named best entertainment presenters for the 11th year in a row.
