ITV has commissioned new series of both Vera, starring Brenda Blethyn, and Scott and Bailey, the show featuring Suranne Jones and Lesley Sharp.
The broadcaster has also announced it has re-ordered Case Sensitive, which stars Olivia Williams, and the medical drama Monroe, with James Nesbitt.
Vera will comprise four new episodes, each 120 minutes long.
Three of these will be brand new stories, and one will be based on the book Silent Voices by Ann Cleeves, who created the character.
Meanwhile, Scott and Bailey will again star Jones and Sharp in eight new episodes.
Sally Wainwright is once again writing the series, which is based on an idea from Jones and Sally Lindsay and is produced by Red Production Company.
Monroe is being produced by Mammoth Screen and is written by Peter Bowker.
Finally, Case Sensitive will see Williams once again appear alongside Darren Boyd in a new two-part story. The drama is produced by Hat Trick Productions.
ITV director of drama Laura Mackie said: “We couldn’t be more delighted with the success of Vera, Case Sensitive, Monroe and Scott and Bailey. It’s terrific to think we are commissioning the most watched and appreciated original dramas for the ITV1 audience.”
