Rob Brydon lands own BBC2 show

Comic Rob Brydon is to host his own BBC2 entertainment show.

The Rob Brydon Show will feature a mix of stand-up comedy from Brydon himself, as well as a different guest comedian each week.

Brydon’s series is being filmed in front of a live studio audience and will be broadcast later this year.

It has been commissioned by BBC2 controller Janice Hadlow and Mark Linsey, controller of BBC entertainment commissioning.

Hadlow said: “I’m delighted that Rob is joining the channel with his own show. Smart, funny and with his own distinctive style, he’s the perfect compliment to the fantastic range of entertainment across BBC2.”

The Rob Brydon Show is being made by Arbie, the production company formed by Brydon and comedy executive producer Miles Ross in 2009.
