Disney’s High School Musical films have provided the inspiration for a new reality TV series, in which four young performers have just four days to choreograph and stage their own dance number.
Called Club High School Musical – Make It Happen, the four-part series will be screened on Disney Channel UK, and will follow the four youngsters as they are tasked with finding 500 other young people to take part in the routine they have created to the song We’re All In This Together.
The series will follow the four chosen participants as they learn a dance, gather the 500 volunteers to join their performance and find a venue to perform it in.
They will be guided by choreographer Kevin Adams who said: “Club High School Musical – Make It Happen is a challenge which embraces the true spirit of Disney’s smash-hit movies. It’s a celebration of friendship, team work and a passion for dance and music.”
Jonathan Boseley, vice president of programming for Disney Channels UK and Ireland, added: “High School Musical has some of the most passionate fans in the world and we’ve tracked down four of the UK’s biggest devotees to pull off this unique challenge. Music and dance is a great way for kids to express themselves and this new series will showcase home-grown talent to the nation.”
