Cleese reunited with Fawlty Towers co-stars for documentary

John Cleese is to be reunited with his Fawlty Towers co-stars Connie Booth, Andrew Sachs and Prunella Scales in a documentary that explores how the sitcom was made.

Fawlty Towers: Re-opened is a two-hour show being made by independent company Tiger Aspect and will feature the cast sharing their experiences of working on the show.

Other contributors include Michael Palin, Eddie Izzard, AA Gill and Henry Winkler.

The programme will air on UKTV channel GOLD on May 10 at 9pm, and be followed a week later with Fawlty Exclusive: Basil’s Best Bits, in which Cleese will reveal his favourite ten scenes from the sitcom.

Jane Rogerson, director of commissioning, factual and factual entertainment at UKTV, said: ”I’m thrilled we’ve got such great access with John Cleese and over the moon we’ve exclusively secured the first interview with Connie Booth in over 20 years. It will be a real televisual treat.”
