Alan Ayckbourn’s revival of his 1985 comedy Woman in Mind is set to transfer to the West End’s Vaudeville Theatre for a limited season from January 29 to May 31.

The production originally opened in September at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, as part of Ayckbourn’s last season as artistic director of the Scarborough venue, and stars Janie Dee. It is the first time he has directed the play in two decades.

Dee will be heading the cast as Susan and will be joined on stage by Bill Champion, Joanna David, Stuart Fox and Paul Kemp. Completing the cast are Perdita Avery, Dominic Hecht and Martin Parr.

Dee worked with Ayckbourn ten years ago in a production of Comic Potential, for which she received Olivier, Evening Standard, and Critics Circle awards for best actress.

The show is being produced by Bill Kenwright, who earlier this year revived Ayckbourn’s Absurd Person Singular at the Garrick Theatre.
