Unwin to replace Hall at Rose of Kingston

Departing English Touring Theatre director Stephen Unwin is to take over from Peter Hall at the newly opened Rose of Kingston Theatre.

Unwin, who announced last year that he would be moving on from ETT, will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the £11 million venue from April, while Hall will remain as director emeritus.

Former National Theatre artistic director Hall has overseen the lengthy and problematic creation of The Rose. The theatre, which is modelled on the Elizabethan venue of the same name, will officially open this Friday, five years after it was initially scheduled for completion.
