Goldblum to join Spacey in the Old Vic’s Speed-the-Plow

Jeff Goldblum and Laura Michelle Kelly will join Kevin Spacey in the Old Vic’s forthcoming revival of Speed-the-Plow by David Mamet.

The production marks the 20th anniversary of the play, which satirises the deal-making that goes on behind-the-scenes in the movie business.

Matthew Warchus will direct the show, which runs from February 1 to April 26. The press night is on February 12.

Spacey said: “I’m pleased to welcome my friend and a great actor Jeff Goldblum to the Old Vic. I know we’re both very excited about discovering this challenging Mamet work with Matthew and Laura. I’ve always wanted to work with Jeff and I couldn’t be happier that it’ll be in this great play.”

Following the run at the Old Vic, the production will be presented at the Ruhrfestspiele Festival in Recklinghausen, Germany which previously hosted the Old Vic’s production of Richard II.

Speed-the-Plow is produced by the Old Vic in association with Ruhrfestspiele.
