Sex and the City actress to star in ITV1 Kipling drama

Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall is to join Harry Potter’s Daniel Radcliffe in My Boy Jack, an ITV1 drama about the death of Rudyard Kipling’s son.

Cattrall will play Kipling’s wife Caroline, who watches her son Jack, played by Radcliffe, go off to fight in World War One and never return.

The film’s writer, David Haig, will play Kipling. He also played Kipling in his stage version of the story at the Hampstead Theatre.

ITV director of drama Laura Mackie said: “Having won the heart of millions as Sex and the City’s Samantha Jones, it’s a real thrill to welcome Kim Cattrall on to ITV1. The part of Caroline Kipling will see her in a completely different role, and illustrates our commitment to bold and inventive casting.”

The two hour drama will be filmed in Dublin during the summer and is being made by Monarch of the Glen producer Ecosse Films.
