UKTV G2 targets ‘upmarket men’ with new shows

UKTV G2, the upmarket entertainment channel aimed at 16 to 34-year-old men, has commissioned a raft of new shows for the late autumn.

Two new entertainment formats have been brought in, the first entitled Totally Viral and made by Spun Gold TV, the producers behind The Madness of Boy George, the ten-episode series will showcase the best comic clips, virals and amateur vignettes from the internet. Voiced by Donald Sinden, each show will be 30 minutes long.

Meanwhile Car Duels will see celebrities such as Sarah Cawood, Rhona Cameron and Steve Redgrave test their driving skills.

UKTV G2′s channel head Steve North said: “The channel has been performing so well since we added sport and factual entertainment into the mix this year, that it felt right to reinforce UKTV G2′s peak time schedule with a swathe of our own commissions specifically targeting young, upmarket men.”

The broadcaster has also lined up comedy panel show Streetcred Sudoku featuring popular performers including Robin Ince and Rufus Hound.
