US network signs up Ant and Dec game show

Ant and Dec’s new ITV1 entertainment game show The Con.Test has already been snapped up for American audiences – despite the fact it has yet to broadcast here.

The quiz, which promises that one person will win £1 million, is loosely based on poker and requires participants to bluff and persuade their opponents they know the right answers even if they do not.

The pair came up with the idea two years ago and had tested it with friends in their local pub.

The US deal has been signed between broadcaster ABC and independent production giant Fremantlemedia.

The show, which was the brainchild of the Geordie duo and a co-production with their own indie Gallowgate Productions and Talkback Thames, will be broadcast over seven nights during summer on the network.
