Ambassador Theatre Group has won the Learning and Skills Council’s Excellence in Workforce Development Award for the on-going training it offers its 1,600 employees.
Head of human resources Hugh Hales received the award, presented in the category for firms with more than 250 staff, from ITV news anchorman Trevor Macdonald.
Since it was established in 1992, ATG has created and developed its own range of in-house courses, which give employees the opportunity to learn and develop the skills needed during their time at the company and beyond. Currently the second largest theatre group in the West End and one of the country’s leading theatre producers, the company has a total of 24 venues.
David Blyth, operations director for ATG, said: “We are all proud to have won this award. We believe our success over the past 15 years is down to the high quality productions we offer and our dedicated workforce. We are delighted that their hard work and commitment has been recognised by the Learning and Skills Council.”
