Pop Idol meets Porridge in this recent transfer from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, based on an intriguing yet underdeveloped concept. Set in a women's prison, it follows the relationships between a group of inmates leading up to a supposedly interactive ending when we can vote, X Factor style, for one to be set free by pinning coloured badges on ourselves. Apart from not being able to see the colours of the badges due to the house lights being turned down, the main problem is that our votes aren't counted and so don't actually mean anything, having seemingly no effect on the play's conclusion...
