There's nothing here that wouldn't have been seen 40 years ago but it is no less enjoyable for that. It has all the elements that have made pantos so popular for so long, including a slapstick baking scene - though, sadly, this one is a rather muted affair. The use of old persons' masks works well on the seven child-actor dwarves and another brief nod to modernity comes in an effective mirror scene, courtesy of a video contribution from children's TV presenter Justin Fletcher...
