I find Egon Schiele's sketches and paintings strikingly unapologetic. They seem to command your attention whilst simultaneously disdaining it - sneering at your compulsion to stare even as they force you into voyeurism... November 24, 2011

Not so much a dance piece as a series of postures, Lea Anderson's 1998 work is a living drollery of painted mannequins directly inspired by the male figures in Schiele's 13 sketchbooks. Dressed in splash-painted two piece suits and later in Expressionist nude bodystockings, designed by triple Oscar-winner Sandy Powell, the six men deliver a series of twisted, angst-ridden tableaux and short, sharp sequences against a live soundtrack of dissonant rock music.
