That sense of a snapshot of a past age runs throughout Hull Truck Theatre's new production. It is there in the dingy greens of the industrial set - a shed-like framework of girders - and the way the cast carry themselves under Tessa Walker's direction. While some of them might be prone to fits of explosive rage - not least the jilted Bant, played by Anthony Clegg - these, you sense, are fundamentally solid, decent men who are more concerned with their community, The Glee Club, than their own personal gain...
