Kathryn Hunter's arms dangle at simian angles - they seem to be hinged differently to most people's. Her posture, her stride, her facial expression - all convey a trace of the ape. Hunter plays Red Peter, a monkey who has learned to behave like a man, mainly through learning to spit and embracing the rum bottle. Based on the Kafka short story, A Report to an Academy, the piece is delivered in the form of a lecture, with Hunter awkwardly stuffed into tail coat and white gloves, occasionally loping into the audience to shake a hand or pick a choice morsel from someone's head...
