A man with a plan

Published Tuesday 16 March 2010 at 12:55

My memories of Rodney West when I was at Bristol Hippodrome and he was at the Old Vic were of a charming, caring man with a great wit and always prepared in advance for any eventuality. Even at the end he appears to have prepared carefully. According to the announcement of his death in The Stage last month (In memoriam, February 4, page 45), he held his own funeral on January 11 and died on January 27. Tidy and in control.

But seriously, he was a lovely man and always a pleasure to meet in later life when he was with London Arts Discovery Tours. I wish him well on his next tour of discovery.
