Les be having you

Does any reader of The Stage happen to know the whereabouts of Peter Brown, who played Les Dakin in the seventies drama Sam? I tried to locate him recently when I contacted other cast members of the series in connection with Maggie Jones’ memorial service (she played Les’ grandma Polly Barraclough).

Former cast members from Sam had no information and Equity were unsure as there are other members on their books (past and present) with the same or similar names. Peter would have been born around the early sixties and I am not certain if he was born in Yorkshire or Lancashire.

He may not have had other TV credits since Sam, although that does not mean that he has left the entertainment industry. Peter appeared in several episodes of the second series in 1974.

I would be grateful for any information. Maggie Jones’ passing has brought much nostalgia to myself, as I am sure it has to others.
