Phan-ciful talk

Published Tuesday 16 March 2010 at 11:55

I have read with interest in the weekend press that Andrew Lloyd Webber is apparently worried about “Phans” dissing his latest opus and blaming the digital media for the same.

He says that a show is never properly “ready” for a month, yet sells previews at the full rate, where he can tinker away to his heart’s content and the public can lump it.

I was in the West End last weekend and thought about dropping in to the Adelphi, but, after checking online, noticed there was no reduction, so declined. No wonder ‘Phans’ are angry and dubbing the production “Paint Never Dries”. Pure greed.
