All that jazz

Published Monday 8 March 2010 at 17:55

My article on Sir John Dankworth’s achievements (“Hotbed of talent”, February 25, page 44) during his acclaimed career reported on his work in persuading the Arts Council of Great Britain to support jazz. Unfortunately this reference was changed to the Arts Council England, which is the current organisation, quite different from the Arts Council of Great Britain, which operated under Royal Charter before it was disintegrated by the politicians in the eighties.

Also, for the record, I should have referred to Sir John being a vice-president (and not president) of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra.
