In the obituary for Mary Logan (February 18, page 45), it mentioned that she had appeared with Sylvia, who made music from glasses.
I recently visited the Benjamin Franklin House, which is situated at 36 Craven Street, London, WC2N 5NF. We were shown the Glass Armonica, which he invented in 1761. It involved wine glasses, different levels of water and he was able to play them with wet fingers while working a pedal machine to make them spin.
There is now a more modern version that we were actually able to try out at the house.
