Archives are the answer

My grateful thanks to your columnist, Ian Herbert, for his generous review of my history of Oxford Playhouse - now also available in paperback at £9.99 (Oxford Playhouse - High and Low Drama in a University City, June 18, page 30) .

Your readers may be interested to learn that I have just passed the extensive material I gathered during my researches to the Oxfordshire Record Office/Centre for Oxfordshire Studies, where it will shortly be available for public inspection.

Despite my best efforts, sadly there remain woeful gaps in the programme runs for the thirties - a salutary reminder to all in the entertainment industry of the importance of keeping the relevant archives supplied with such ephemera.
