Kiss my kneecap

Published Tuesday 12 August 2008 at 11:30

A few weeks ago you published a Stage Online enquiry which has been on my mind ever since. A young lady had been cast in a production which involved kissing on stage and she was worried.

Never having been legitimate, I may be speaking out of turn, but I thought the whole point was that what happens on stage is an illusion. Do you really need a new Desdemona every night? If it were real, a season of the Scottish play would decimate the working population of Equity. Stars of earlier ages faked kisses convincingly on a large cinema screen.

Of course, Miss, during your career you will come across predators of all sexes. A well aimed kneecap should make your point of view known.
