Every time the Wilfred Pickles’ radio programme, Have a Go, was broadcast, my father said that the pianist, Harry Hudson, was a cousin. Since taking up family history research, I have tried to prove my father right.
Wilfred Pickles
As a result of information gathered from various search engines, I have been able to obtain some details of his life (1898-1969), particularly as the musical director for Edison Bell Records and of various bands during the thirties providing musical backing for, among others, Al Bowlly.
I have had no luck in finding a Harry Hudson birth or death corresponding to either date and therefore have to consider the possibility that Harry Hudson was a stage name. I would appreciate any help you are able to give.
