It is a disgrace that some television companies overlook those whom they depend upon to produce their programmes. Without actors and all members of production teams there would be no programmes to put out.
Credits are an important part of any production and should not be treated as if they were an embarrassment. They give recognition to all those who have with dedication and professionalism been part of the whole production. They also help those in the industry to gain recognition for the part they have played and, perhaps, enhance their prospects of further employment.
Nothing can be more annoying to a viewer than the reduction of credits to the size of a barely recognisable postage stamp, whilst a voice-over blares away about the following programme.
The deep-seated fear of channel-switching appears to have resulted in desperate measures which do no favours to viewers. The enjoyment of several programmes is spoiled when, towards the end, captions and boxes flip up on the screen to distract from the programme being watched in its final minutes.
This state of affairs must be addressed for the industry as a whole.
