Changes for the worse

The recent letters and articles about the Bristol Old Vic closure yet again brings into question the murky influence of Arts Council England in its policy of regime change.

We recently lost our local Theatre Royal, Margate when it was a stipulation of arts council funding that there were directional changes, despite the fact that a local team kept the lights on for years without adequate funding. I also know that managers have been changed to “refresh” venues all around the country.
