Stick to singing

Published Monday 8 January 2007 at 15:10

I am so fed up of reading or hearing about singers who then go into acting. I am 19 and I want to become a professional actor and I know that it is going to be a long, hard struggle to make it in movies and on the stage and it doesn’t help that people like Ashlee Simpson, Usher, Joss Stone, Darius and Will Young take up roles that could be done by people twice as talented as they are. People who have trained for years in straight acting and musical theatre. They always say that they started as actors/actresses - well then why didn’t they stick to it if that was their “first love”? The only reason they get the parts is because they are a household name. They see an opening in entertainment industry and just think of the money. Leave the theatre to the real thespians.
