Matthew Addison

Matthew Addison would sing anything. Although he has recently formed a rock band with friends he has a soft spot for ballads and heart-breaking musicals like Les Miserables.

He has been performing regularly at weddings and private functions, both singing alone and as part of a cabaret show. This year Matthew hopes to go on a cruise in the sun - working, of course.

It is Matthew’s youthful exuberance, charming modesty and talent, which have made him a hit in his local area near Hornsey in the north of England. He says: “It feels natural for me to perform when I’m around a group of people, although I do get a bit nervous before larger gigs.”

During last year’s Showcall Showcase, when he performed to an audience of 150, he admits: “I was shaking so much that I had to hold the microphone with both hands because I thought I was going to drop it.”

Matthew won the Hull Daily Mail Talent Trail competition in 2003. Despite being only 21 years old, he has more than a decade of experience. Playing the lead role in Oliver! aged 12 was his big break. Like his character, Matthew knew he wanted more. Fortunately, he got it.
