Adam Peck is currently appearing in Tossed!, a reworking of Shakespeare’s The Tempest at the People Show Studios in Bethnal Green, by the Pants on Fire theatre company.

He explains: “The idea behind the show is to make the play really funny - we’ve tried to modernise it and make it more physical. We’re using a chorus of Arials and a chorus of actors, who are each taking two parts. The two characters are opposites, so, for example I’m playing Ferdinand and Sebastian.”

When the run finishes on May 7, Adam is hoping to do some work with his own company, Bare Feet, which plans to stage its first production in July.

“It’s called 100 Reasons Not to Love Me and we’re writing and devising it at the moment,” he says. “Bare Feet is a five-person company and we’re trying to go back to the grassroots of storytelling. We’re sick of seeing things where it’s all style, no substance.”

For now, though, he’s concentrating on Tossed!. Says Adam: “It’s going really well. I’m enjoying the fact that I’m playing two very different parts but there are a lot of quick costume changes which can be quite demanding.”
