Chit chat: Fingleton prepares to fee-fi-fo-fum

And, if you’re sat there thinking how dated the idea of a midget show would seem to modern audiences, may Tabard remind you that this is the season where little people across the UK pick up their Christmas bonuses, as they appear in productions of Snow White.

Or, if you’re at the other end of the scale - like Britain’s tallest man Neil Fingleton - you might try to land the role of the giant in Jack and the Beanstalk. Indeed, Fingleton, who is 7ft 7.56 inches tall, will be appearing at the Lighthouse in Poole, alongside Antonio Fargas - or Huggy Bear from Starsky and Hutch, as he’s better known.

“I can’t wait to start playing the giant - it’s like the role was written for me,” says Fingleton. “Not a day goes by when people don’t point at me and tell me how tall I am, so it’s great to make the most of it like this.”
