Chit chat - Winter warmer

Published Tuesday 4 November 2008 at 10:25 by Tabard

From bears on hands to racoons on heads, Tabard expects delegates at the forthcoming TMA Winter Conference to be turning up in their finest coonskin hats.

We hear the uninitiated among you ask: ‘What’s a coonskin hat?”

Well, it’s that thing that Davy Crockett used to wear. We’re guessing your next question is: “Why will everyone be wearing one of those to the TMA conference?” Well, bear with us and we’ll explain (no pun intended).

According to a missive sent out this week on behalf of the TMA, the event is this year being held at the Alameda Theatre. No, we’re not familiar with it either. Tabard is assuming, though, that it’s some strange hybrid of the Alamo and the Almeida. Hence the weak attempt at some Davy Crockett-related humour.

Should delegates actually like to take Tabard up on this suggestion, however, we’d like to direct them to www.furhatworld.com, which has as wide a selection of coonskin hats as you’re likely to find anywhere.
