Chit Chat - Out of the woods

Meanwhile - and on a more serious note - Tabard is delighted to see Dan Crawford and Judy Campbell being remembered with a brand new production at the Jermyn Street Theatre.

Crooked Wood by Gillian Plowman will mark the first show at the Off-West End venue which has been completely funded in house and is being staged in memory of the two late, great theatre figures, who had been planning to stage their own version of the play, shortly before they sadly passed away.

Crawford was, of course, the director behind the UK’s first ever pub theatre - the King’s Head in Islington, now run by his partner Stephanie Sinclaire - while Campbell was a regular treading the boards of the Jermyn Street.

Stepping into the pair’s rather large shoes will be Gene David Kirk, who takes on directing responsibilities, and Doreen Mantle in the role which Judy had been down to play. Good luck to them - the whole thing kicks off on September 9.
