Red-blooded male readers of Chit Chat (there are a politically incorrect few) will mourn the passing of Norwegian blonde bombshell actress Julie Ege, whose shapely features livened up many a dire seventies British film.

Dear old Julie didn’t have much say when it came to casting - she was Inge Giltenburg, a Swedish au pair in Marty Feldman’s Every Home Should Have One, Donald Sinden’s frustrated wife in Rentadick and a bored housewife in The Amorous Milkman, a film noted for its tasteful advertising - “If your pussy could only talk!”.
She was also the victim of Donald Pleasance’s mad scientist in The Mutations and in The Legend of Seven Golden Vampires, a Hammer flick, she had a stake driven through her heart.
Not surprisingly, Julie eventually chucked it all in and to her great credit, became a nurse. Reflecting on her acting career, she said: “To be honest, I was never really that proud of my performance in films, but I gave it my best and enjoyed the work very much.” Bless.
