Chit chat - Caine disabled

Meanwhile, maybe Helen would like to spare a thought for fellow impressionist/lookalike Drew Cameron, who recently suffered a rather nasty accident.

Drew, who is best known for his Michael Caine impersonation, broke his leg rather badly while playing football earlier this month.

Poor lad. It was on his birthday as well.

Apparently, the entire football team sang happy birthday to him as he was carried to an ambulance, bone sticking out of his leg. Post-surgery, Drew woke up to be informed that he was going to be on the following Saturday’s edition of Britain’s Got Talent, for which he had auditioned a few months before.

The programme shows the final round of auditions, but unfortunately Drew didn’t make it into the semi-finals.

So, did an impending TV appearance help to dull the pain, Tabard wonders? “I think I’d have rather had my leg back,” quipped the comedian.
