Chit chat - Sink or swim

Meanwhile, fans of other musical curiosities might like to find their way down to the Shaw Theatre later this month, where Titanic - The Musical is to receive a student staging.

Memorably, the show’s Broadway run back in 1997 suffered technical problems during its previews when the ship just wouldn’t sink.

Perhaps ironic then that this student production (interestingly, there still hasn’t been a full, professional UK version) is to take place at the Shaw. It was of course the site of Mike Read’s ill-fated musical about Oscar Wilde, which had exactly the opposite problem during previews.
