Chit Chat - Davey’s gone to Iceland

Published Tuesday 2 October 2007 at 11:05 by Tabard

Tabard has learnt something interest things about Alan Davey, the new executive director of Arts Council England, this week.

Here they are, in no particular order. He is an expert on Icelandic poetry. As an undergraduate he wrote a computer programme that purported to generate poetry. He supports Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. He owns 11 Apple Macs, which he likes to ‘fiddle’ with. He has a Facebook page, but only two friends. These two friends are Ruth Mackenzie and Martin Duncan - the former directors of Chichester Festival Theatre. He was responsible for designing the National Lottery.
