Chit Chat - Dodd and gone

Tabard is always keen to bring Chit Chit readers news of record-breaking theatrical feats.

At the recent re-siting of the Max Miller statue in Brighton, stars including Denis Norden, Leslie Randall and Dora Bryan were in attendance but the ceremony itself was performed by legendary King of the Diddy Men, Ken Dodd. After cutting the ribbon, Doddy began his stand-up spot which lasted for exactly seven minutes. Yes, that’s right, seven minutes. Not seven hours, with the band packing up halfway through the act and the audience missing their last bus home, but just seven minutes - a figure surely worthy of the Guinness Book of Records for the shortest spot Doddy has ever done in his entire career.
