Bradford-based audio and lighting rental specialists Stage Management Company will again join up this summer with theatre company Punchdrunk, Manchester International Festival and the BBC to supply full audio-visual and technical support for Dr Who: Crash of the Elysium, a live interactive theatrical experience at the New Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich, as part of the Ipswich 2012 Festival.
It will be the company’s fourth project working with Punchdrunk, and third with the BBC, having previously worked on Duchess of Malfi with the English National Opera (and Punchdrunk) in 2010. Pre-production work has already started in preparation for the run, which opens mid-June. Jezz Hellens, head of technical at Stage Management Company, has once again been appointed technical manager for the production.
First staged in 1998, the Ipswich Festival is an annual multidisciplinary event aimed at showcasing a broad programme of entertainment and arts.
