MidKent performance

The Performance Pavilion, one of the key features of the new £86 million Medway Campus in Gillingham, now substantially extends the facilities of the MidKent College. Construction of the space, states design and installation specialists, Stage Electrics, presented the company with the ideal opportunity to integrate a Cat 5 infrastructure and RSS digital audio system at the heart of the venue. From the start MidKent College was consequently able to make significant economies in, not least, cabling costs, according to Darren Beckley, business development manager at Stage Electrics. The Performance Pavilion will house audiences of 300 and boasts flexible seating and staging to host varied productions. As well as receiving shows and hosting college productions, ranging from drama to rock concerts, the theatre may be rented out commercially. Students will also use the facilities on the college’s technical theatre course.
