Five star service

Published Monday 21 April 2008 at 11:30

Keith Sykes, works director of UK flightcase manufacturer 5 Star for 11 years, has purchased the majority shareholding of the company.

MD Jim Willis, has retired from the Wisbech-based business after a quarter of a century service, Sykes and Willis having worked together for many years, building the company from when it initially made its mark as a guitar and keyboard case manufacturer.

Sykes joined in June 1991 when 5 Star acquired Pro-Tect Cases, an Ipswich-based case-making operation that he’d managed for some years. Sykes was made a director and shareholder of 5 Star Cases in 1997.

For the immediate future, Willis will continue to support specific key accounts he has managed, culminating in a strategic hand-over to a recently re-structured sales team.
