Charity up in lights

Published Monday 14 April 2008 at 17:45

The second annual Light Relief Day takes place on Thursday, April 24.

Last year’s charity event raised £5,000.

Already pledged to donate royalties to the cause, which aims to help lighting industry professionals in times of hardship, are lighting designers from many shows, including overseas productions. They include Rick Fisher - Billy Elliot UK and Australia, Rob Halliday - Equus UK tour and My Fair Lady US tour, Ian Scott - 39 Steps, and James Whiteside for The Wedding Singer tour and Never Forget, donated in advance of its West End premiere.

Light Relief Day was instigated by Rick Fisher in honour of the late Tony Gottelier, who was instrumental in setting up the event. www.lightrelief.org.uk
