Frequently Asked Questions

15) I posted a message on Stagetalk and it's disappeared.

StageTalk is moderated; this means that there are rules about what can be posted there. This may sound harsh, but there are plenty of chat rooms available where anything goes and these may suit you better if you prefer a total absence of censorship.

StageTalk is intended to be a 'helpdesk' and a place for people in and interested in the entertainment industry to discuss points of common interest; we have to be careful about libel and defamation, we will not tolerate bad language, racist/sexist/unkind remarks, or postings which have a go at celebrities - or whoever - for the sake of it. So, if your posting could come under any of these headings, that's probably why it's not there any more!

If you think we've deleted it unjustly, by all means contact us, in case this was caused by a technical fault.

Other reasons why your posting might be removed:
- if you've posted the same question in every or more than one section
- if you're asking a question which has been asked many times before - that's why we ask you to read the faq's, How To Guides and any 'sticky' or older posts first
- if you're advertising
- postings that have remained unanswered for a long time (usually a few months) or contain information that is out-of-date or no longer relevant will also be deleted.
- if The Stage receives a complaint about a posting it may also be deleted
