Frequently Asked Questions

7) How do I find out about amateur dramatic societies, theatre groups and young people's drama in my area? I'm also interested in part-time and evening courses.

There are a number of places you can look or websites you can search via:

Look in your local paper, at the library or ring the Town Hall and ask for the Arts section.

For a list of UK based amateur companies in your area look under http://www.amdram.co.uk

'Floodlight' has listings of part-time courses in the London area, available from newsagents (or online), or for a country-wide course finder try HotCourses.

The Actors' Yearbook also lists short-term and part-time courses.

UK Performing Arts also has a course finder.

There are also regional arts boards for each section of the UK and Ireland:
Arts Council England
Arts Council Wales
Scottish Arts Council
