Frequently Asked Questions

5) Where can I find a list of Stage and Drama schools?

Many stage and drama schools advertise in The Stage Newspaper's Training and Tuition pages in the paper each week and this is always a good place to start if you are looking for specialist courses or summer schools.

For a list of accredited schools go to the Conference of Drama Schools website and click on 'schools'. A map of the UK and links to the relevant websites are available.

A list of UK registered dance teachers can be found on the Council for Dance - Education and Training website. They also have a list of dance schools with accredited courses as well as other dance schools and dance companies, and they also provide useful links to related publications and organisations.

For a comprehensive list of stage schools and accreddited courses see the National Council for Drama Training website, which also gives information on who to contact for more information on other aspects of the industry such as drama therapy and make-up courses, as well as links for backstage and stage management.

For a list of university, college or short courses that cover the aspects you are interested in do a search on the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS).

Various other sites list stage and drama schools in the UK such as Stage Register.

Contacts and The Actors' Yearbook both list training establishments.

You may also find it useful to look at UK Performing Arts, which list courses and training establishments for the arts.
