Malcolm Sinclair re-elected Equity president

Malcolm Sinclair has been re-elected as president of actors’ union Equity for a second two-year term.

Sinclair received 1819 votes, with Jean Rogers, currently the union’s vice-president, on 1503 votes and former vice-president Dave Eager on 603.

Voter turn out was roughly level on previous years, with 12% of the membership voting.

Sinclair won his second term with a slightly higher majority than he won his first in 2010, when he beat incumbent Graham Hamilton by 1799 vots to 1593. Eager, who also stood in 2010, also increased his share of the vote – from 522 to 603.

Full results of the Equity council elections have yet to be announced.
