RSC to take Matilda to Broadway in 2013

Matilda the Musical will transfer to New York in early 2013, the Royal Shakespeare Company has confirmed.

The RSC has not confirmed whether it will be producing the show itself on Broadway or where it run. It has said that preliminary auditions for adult casting will begin in March and further production information will be announced in the near future.

Matilda The Musical is written by Dennis Kelly, with music and lyrics by the Australian comedian, musician and composer Tim Minchin, and direction by Matthew Warchus.

It is produced in the West End by the RSC with Andre Ptaszynski as executive producer.
