Moffat and Harries to appear at Edinburgh TV festival

Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat and Wallander executive producer Andy Harries are among the talent who will appear as part of this year’s MediaGuardian Edinburgh International Television Festival.

Both will deliver masterclasses at this year’s event, which will also see Shameless creator Paul Abbott deliver the Alternative MacTaggart Lecture.

Elsewhere, new Channel 4 chief executive David Abraham will attend the festival, as well as channel controllers and commissioners from the broadcasting industry, including BBC1 controller Jay Hunt and Sky One’s Stuart Murphy.

Also at the three-day event, which runs from August 27 to 29, Coronation Street creator and writer Tony Warren will deliver a masterclass, while BBC director general Mark Thompson will deliver the MacTaggart Lecture.
