David Jason returns to ITV with Come Rain Come Shine

David Jason is to star in a new ITV1 drama called Come Rain Come Shine, his first role for the broadcaster since A Touch of Frost came to an end in April.

The drama will also star Alison Steadman and is being written by Jeff Pope.

ITV said the 120-minute film tells the story of man who is trying to keep his family afloat “emotionally and financially, after they lose virtually everything”.

Come Rain Come Shine will be executive produced by Pope, with Jason and David Reynolds.

ITV director of drama Laura Mackie said: “We’re delighted to have commissioned Come Rain Come Shine as it’s a wonderfully compassionate script about the importance of family and what happens when there’s the chance you might lose everything.”

Filming begins in Leeds next month and will continue for four weeks.
